Gangolf Sauder has been the Managing Director and Chief Physician of the Charlottenklinik für Augenheilkunde in Stuttgart, Germany and a Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology of the University of Mannheim since 2006.

Prof. Dr. Sauder studied medicine at the University of Bonn and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the Stiftsklinikum in Koblenz. He is a board- certified ophthalmologist, whose surgical management covers the complete ocular spectrum, from oculoplastic surgery to vitreoretinal disorders.

In his position at the Charlottenklinik Eye Clinic he annually performs 8000 cataract surgeries, 600 glaucoma surgeries, and 1400 vitreoretinal surgeries. During his years of practice, he has completed more than 6000 nanolaser photofragmentation cataract procedures.
