Ernesto J Otero, MD is Professor of Ophthalmology in Anterior Segment, Cornea and Refractive surgery at the Superior School of Ophthalmology- Barraquer Institute of America and member of the faculty at the Barraquer Clinic in Bogota, Colombia since 2003. Throughout his over 20 years of professional experience, Dr Otero has dedicated himself to the study and treatment of diseases affecting the anterior segment of the eye, the cornea and refractive errors. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Latin American Society of Anterior Segment and Cataract Surgeons (ALACCSA). President elect of the Colombian Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASOCYR). Member of the editorial board of Em-Foco (Journal of the Brazilian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery- BRASCRS). He is the medical director of the Colombian Eye-bank Corporation (COBANCOL) since 2003. Member of the Board of Directors of Oftamos SA. Member of the Board of Directors of the Barraquer Institute of America and member of the educational board of the Superior School of Ophthalmology.
